About This Audit
The compliance audit of the Harmony Township Police Pension Plan, conducted by the Auditor General of Pennsylvania under Act 205, assessed the plan’s administration from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2023. The audit focused on compliance with state laws, regulations, and local policies. The audit verified state aid deposits, employer contributions, and employee contributions, which were waived in 2023. It also checked if there were any benefit calculations and ensured that the actuarial valuation report was submitted timely. Moreover, DROP provisions compliance was examined. Township officials are responsible for maintaining effective internal controls to ensure legal compliance. The audit concluded that the Harmony Township Police Pension Plan was generally administered in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations, with no significant findings of noncompliance. This report, containing supplementary unaudited information, was shared with relevant township and state officials.
