About This Audit

The compliance audit of the Strinestown Volunteer Firefighters’ Relief Association in York County, Pennsylvania, covered the period from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023. Conducted under Pennsylvania state authority, the audit aimed to assess compliance with state laws, contracts, bylaws, and administrative procedures regarding state aid receipt and fund expenditures. The audit was not performed under U.S. Government Auditing Standards but provided adequate evidence to evaluate the association’s compliance. The association was found compliant with applicable laws and procedures in managing state aid and expenditure of funds. The audit reviewed expenditures totaling $113,767, primarily for benefit services and fire service-related costs. The findings were shared with association officials, who extended full cooperation. The association received funds from Conewago Township and was affiliated with the Strinestown Community Fire Company. This report is available publicly and was distributed to relevant officials, including the Pennsylvania Governor and the Conewago Township Secretary.
