Port Matilda Firefighters Relief Association – Centre County – Audit Period January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2023

A compliance audit was conducted on the Port Matilda Firefighters Relief Association for the period from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023. The audit was authorized by Pennsylvania state laws and focused on whether the association addressed previous audit findings and complied with relevant laws, bylaws, and procedures regarding state aid receipts and fund expenditures. The audit revealed that the association addressed one out of three findings from a prior audit, but still had issues with maintaining an accurate equipment roster, securing ownership interest in jointly purchased equipment, timely receipt and deposit of state aid, and maintaining an accurate membership roster. The association’s compliance shortfall could affect future state aid. The investment balance of $56,867 could not be independently verified. The audit concluded that significant non-compliance persisted in the association’s handling of state aid and fund management during the audit period.
