Lisburn Community Volunteer Firefighters Relief Association – Cumberland County – Audit Period January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2023

A compliance audit was conducted on the Lisburn Community Volunteer Firefighters Relief Association for January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2023, as authorized by Pennsylvania laws and the VFRA Act. The audit aimed to assess whether the association took corrective action on previous findings and adhered to state laws and procedures concerning state aid and fund expenditures. Audit findings highlighted noncompliance with maintaining a complete equipment roster, undocumented expenditures, and insufficient meeting minutes and bylaws. The association’s failure to provide canceled checks hindered verification of proper authorization in line with VFRA Act requirements. The audit concluded the association did not comply significantly with state laws, jeopardizing future state aid. The association’s management was informed, and cooperation with the audit was appreciated.
