About This Audit
The compliance audit for the Treasurer of Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, assessed the collection of funds on behalf of the Commonwealth for specific license periods, including hunting licenses from July 1, 2019, to June 30, 2024, and fishing and dog licenses from January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2023. Conducted by the Department of Auditor General, the audit aimed to ensure compliance with state laws and the correct assessment, reporting, and remittance of fees collected for the Pennsylvania Game Commission, Fish and Boat Commission, and the Department of Agriculture. The audit found that, in all significant respects, the County Officer complied with relevant laws and regulations. Funds collected were mostly handled via electronic transfers and checks. Summaries of receipts and disbursements were prepared per licensing agency requirements. Thanks were extended to Treasurer Cindy S. Newcomer and her staff for their cooperation during the audit process.
