Cornwells Firemen’s Relief Association – Bucks County – Audit Period January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2023

A compliance audit was conducted on the Cornwells Firemen’s Relief Association in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, covering January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2023, as mandated by Pennsylvania state laws and the Volunteer Firefighters’ Relief Association Act (VFRA Act). The audit aimed to determine whether the relief association adhered to state laws, contracts, bylaws, and procedures regarding state aid and fund expenditures. While the audit found general compliance, it noted the inability to verify the cash balance and the absence of canceled or imaged checks, hindering the confirmation that two officers signed the checks. Despite these issues, it concluded the association complied with pertinent requirements overall. Conducted by the Auditor General, the report thanked relief association officials for their cooperation and was shared with key stakeholders, including the Governor, local officials, and public records.
