About This Audit
A compliance audit was conducted for the Bangor Borough Non-Uniformed Cash Balance Pension Plan in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, covering the period from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023. The audit aimed to assess whether the pension plan adhered to relevant state laws, regulations, and policies under the authority of the Municipal Pension Plan Funding Standard and Recovery Act. The methodology included verifying the proper determination and deposit of state aid, calculating employer and employee contributions, and ensuring compliance with state aid participation requirements. The audit concluded that the pension plan was administered in compliance with applicable regulations. The plan, part of the Pennsylvania Municipal Retirement System, requires the municipality to contribute 5% of each member’s compensation.
