Borough of Weissport – Carbon County – Liquid Fuels Tax Fund for the Period January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023

The independent auditor’s report examined the Liquid Fuels Tax Fund for the Borough of Weissport, Carbon County, covering January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023. The audit, guided by standards from the AICPA and U.S. Government Auditing Standards, evaluated the accuracy of Form MS-965 With Adjustments. The audit uncovered several issues: a Final Completion Report for a project was not filed, an allocation was received late, and prior period expenditure documentation deficiencies led to reimbursement. While the audit identified these issues, it found no material weaknesses in internal control. The audit’s purpose was to verify compliance with laws and regulations regarding fund expenditures.
