About This Audit

The compliance audit of the Clymer Volunteer Firefighters’ Relief Association, conducted for the period January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023, concluded that the association took appropriate corrective actions on previous findings and complied with applicable state laws, contracts, bylaws, and administrative procedures, especially regarding the receipt of state aid and expenditure of funds. The audit, based on the VFRA Act and Pennsylvania’s fiscal provisions, focused on whether corrective measures were implemented and compliance with relevant guidelines was maintained. The association successfully addressed prior issues, such as untimely deposits of state aid and failure to maintain a Pennsylvania Sales Tax Exemption Number. The audit found that state aid was properly allocated from municipalities, and total expenditures during the audit period were $21,887. The findings reflected positively on the relief association’s management under President Ms. Haley N. Mumau. The audit results were discussed with the relief association management and relevant municipal authorities.
