About This Audit
The compliance audit of the DuBois Volunteer Firemen’s Relief Association, conducted for the period from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023, aimed to assess whether the association adhered to state laws, contracts, bylaws, and administrative procedures concerning the receipt and use of state aid funds. The audit confirmed that the association complied with all relevant regulations during this period. The audit was not conducted following Government Auditing Standards but provided sufficient evidence to draw reasonable conclusions. The association received significant funding from state aid allocated based on the Foreign Fire Insurance Tax Distribution Law and maintained a total cash and investment sum of $1,250,338 as of December 31, 2023. The audit identified minor unauthorized expenditures but did not include a finding due to their low dollar value. Overall, the audit results showed compliance and appropriate financial management by the association.
