About This Audit
The compliance audit of the former East Mauch Chunk Volunteer Fireman’s Relief Association in Carbon County, Pennsylvania, covered the period from January 1, 2021, to November 4, 2021. Conducted under the authority of state laws, the audit aimed to verify corrective actions taken regarding a prior audit finding and assess compliance with relevant state laws and procedures on state aid and fund expenditure. While unable to independently confirm cash and investment balances, the audit concluded that appropriate corrective actions were implemented, and compliance with laws was achieved in all key areas. As the association dissolved by November 4, 2021, its assets and operations merged with the Mauch Chunk Firemen’s Relief Association of Jim Thorpe. The audit findings were shared with relevant officials, commending East Mauch for addressing prior findings and recommending continued compliance by the successor association.
