About This Audit
The compliance audit of the Greeley Volunteer Firefighters’ Relief Association, covering January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2023, aimed to determine whether corrective actions were implemented from a prior audit and if state laws were followed regarding state aid and fund expenditure. The audit revealed that the association failed to take appropriate corrective actions on previous findings, including maintaining Surety (Fidelity) Bond Coverage and accurate meeting minutes. Additionally, noncompliance issues included inadequate signatory authority, incomplete equipment rosters, and failure to maintain a Pennsylvania Sales Tax Exemption Number. While some areas complied with state regulations, significant deficiencies persisted. Association officials are urged to implement recommended actions promptly. The audit report, discussed with management, was facilitated through the cooperation of the relief association’s officials. The audit ensures that funds are utilized correctly, affirming responsibility to the public in managing financial affairs efficiently.
