About This Audit

The compliance audit of the Mayfield Volunteer Firemen’s Relief Association was conducted for the period from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2023. The audit aimed to evaluate whether prior corrective actions were implemented and if the association adhered to applicable state laws and procedures regarding state aid and funds expenditure. Despite not being able to independently verify cash and investment balances, it was found that the association addressed the previous audit’s findings and generally complied with regulations, except for inadequate meeting minutes. This issue involved the failure to maintain detailed and signed minutes as stipulated by their bylaws. The audit report discussed these findings with the association’s management for corrective measures. The audit acknowledged association officials’ cooperation throughout the process, concluding generally favorable compliance with relevant laws and administrative procedures.
