About This Audit

An audit was conducted on the Rew Volunteer Firemen’s Relief Association in McKean County, Pennsylvania, covering January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023. The audit aimed to verify compliance with applicable state laws, contracts, bylaws, and procedures, regarding the receipt of state aid and the expenditure of funds. While the audit did not follow Government Auditing Standards, it provided reasonable assurance of compliance. The relief association officers maintain the responsibility for effective internal controls, ensuring the proper administration and safeguarding of assets. Audit results confirmed that the association complied with requirements in all significant respects during the audited period. The association received state aid from Foster and Keating Townships and reported total cash of $16,257 and expenditures of $15,195 by December 31, 2023. Discussions were held with management, and the report was shared with relevant parties, including the municipalities involved. The audit found no significant issues in compliance.
