Taylor Township Vol. Firefighters’ Relief Association – Lawrence County – Audit Period January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2023

The compliance audit of the Taylor Township Vol. Firefighters’ Relief Association for January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023, assessed whether the association addressed prior findings and complied with relevant laws and procedures regarding state aid and fund expenditure. Conducted under Pennsylvania law, the audit showed that while the association resolved one finding from the previous report, it failed to address the timely deposit of state aid. Specifically, the 2023 state aid was not deposited until February 6, 2024, in violation of requirements. The audit also identified insufficient surety bond coverage as a concern. Despite these issues, the association’s overall compliance with laws and procedures was generally satisfactory. Management’s cooperation during the audit was acknowledged. The association officers were reminded to implement corrective actions for unresolved findings to ensure the effective administration of state aid and compliance with applicable regulations.
