About This Audit

The Lime Ridge Fire Company #1 Fireman’s Relief Association underwent a Limited Procedures Engagement (LPE) for the period from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2023. Conducted under the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and related statutes, the LPE aimed to ensure proper expenditure and deposit of state aid as per the Volunteer Firefighters’ Relief Association Act. The procedures included reviewing financial records, verifying expenditures totaling $35,393, and confirming timely deposit of state aid funds. The examination found all financial activities to be in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The relief association spent $41,612 during this period and maintained $27,178 in cash by December 31, 2023. The report, which also highlights the association’s role in providing financial protection for volunteer firefighters, indicates no misuse of funds. It was discussed with the association’s officers and is available publicly. The department may conduct future audits, emphasizing the importance of maintaining thorough documentation.
