About This Audit
The compliance audit of the Shinglehouse Volunteer Firefighters Relief Association in Potter County, Pennsylvania, covered the period from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023. Conducted under the authority of the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, The Fiscal Code, and the Volunteer Firefighters’ Relief Association Act, the audit aimed to assess compliance with state laws, contracts, bylaws, and administrative procedures related to state aid and fund management. The audit concluded that the association complied with all relevant requirements. The relief association, which is responsible for managing public tax monies to support volunteer firefighters, had total cash of $46,930 and expenditures of $22,700 during the audited period. These expenditures were reviewed to confirm compliance. The audit findings and conclusions were discussed with the association’s management, who were thanked for their cooperation.
