About This Audit

The Washington Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 Relief Association underwent a Limited Procedures Engagement (LPE) for January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2023. The purpose was to confirm the appropriate usage of funds in line with the Volunteer Firefighters’ Relief Association Act. This review assessed transactions of the association, which expended $101,361 within this period. The LPE involved examining expenditure records, verifying state aid deposits, and interviewing officials. Key findings included no unauthorized fund expenditures or mismanagement of state aid. Total expenditures included benefit services, fire services, and administrative services. The association received state aid from Washington Township, with total cash and investments amounting to $1,034,317 by the end of 2023. The Auditor General’s report confirms compliance with legal and administrative standards, ensuring the responsible management of the relief association’s finances.
