Examples of Duties

As an Audit Data Analytics Senior Manager, you will be responsible for leading and driving the strategic direction of the department’s data analytics initiatives to enhance audit processes and decision-making.  This role oversees the development and implementation of advanced analytics strategies, including predictive modeling, data visualization, and the application of innovative tools and techniques to support audit objectives.  Primary responsibilities include spearheading the department’s data and analytics (D&A) plan, as well as ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of data used in audits. 


The Audit Data Analytics Senior Manager collaborates with various bureaus, such as the Bureau of Performance Audits, the Bureau of County Audits, and the Bureau of Liquor Control Audits to deliver actionable insights that strengthen audit outcomes.  By providing data-driven insights, this position ensures that the department’s analytics and data utilization are optimized for efficient and effective audit practices, thereby supporting the Department of the Auditor General in its mission of transparency and accountability. 

Work Schedule and Additional Information: 

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will be expected to work from home (telework) full-time.  You must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Graduate degree in a Data Science or STEM field i.e. Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or related field; and
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in supervising data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on applying advanced analytics techniques.


Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Any relevant data analytics certification.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Expertise in data analytics tools such as ACL, SQL, and PowerBI. 
  • Experience with audit standards.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working with SQL, Data Warehousing, Python, and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles, data modeling, and BI tools.
  • Fluency in statistics, data ingestion, and data processing.
